FLERP (Future Language Educators Recruitment Project)

The Future Language Educators Recruitment Project (FLERP) is a collaborative effort to promote the teaching and learning of world languages and foster the recruitment of new world language teachers. A team of nearly 30 K-16 educators translated and adapted teacher recruitment curricular modules from ACTFL/Educators Rising into Spanish, French, and Arabic (coming soon). Elementary versions are also available in Spanish and French.

Using these modules, language teachers can promote discussion on the importance of language learning, stimulate interest in language teaching, and provide their students with important resources on this career, all while using authentic resources and adhering to ACTFL’s and district policies on target language use in the classroom.

FLERP is possible thanks to travel and logistical support from the Northeast Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (NECTFL) and grants from the University of Connecticut’s Scholarship Facilitation Fund and Neag’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction.

All of the modules can be accessed at this link. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or feedback!
